19 children, six parents and 4 staff set off to Conkers on Thursday. We were met by a Ranger and taken straight in to board the train to Waterside and start our activities. We started off outside on our Teddy Bear's Grand Adventure, but the heavens opened and we had to retreat to a classroom to finish our story. Fortunately the rain didn't last long and we started our walk through the woods looking for the trees in the story and finding Teddy Bears hidden around the wood and over the wobbly bridges. Everyone was hungry by the end, so off to lunch. The weather cleared whilst having lunch so as a train had just left, we went into the playground for a short time. The driver held the train for us and we disembarked on the Discovery side and made our way to the Barefoot Walk. Most of the children and parents rolled up their trousers to go round - the water between the various surfaces was freezing - and I mean freezing - but their was a lot of giggling all the way round from adults and children. Just time for a group photo and back to the bus. Some photos are on our facebook page, if you'd like a look. A very enjoyable day. A bus full of very tired but happy children on the journey home!!
A huge thank you to all the parent helpers and congratulations to all the children who were very well behaved, and enjoyed every minute!!
